Mission Statement
Described as the purpose of the organization, the mission communicates the demographics and/or community it serves and the how in which it plans to serve the community. In a brief statement, it lays out why the organization was created and the actions the agency is taking to address the need. The mission statement guides the direction of the organization, shapes the culture, and acts as a template for how decisions are made. The mission statement should be:
